A Jolly Monstrosity Comes to Life

A Jolly Monstrosity Comes to Life

Gentle reader,

Enjoy the new FREE visual novel & card game demo Jolly Good: A Ghastly Entertainment!

In Jolly Good: AGE, Jolly the Scarecrow tells the story of waking up in a castle, dreaming of building a circus, and fighting his way to town pasts ghosts, buzzards, and mechanical men to make his dream come true. All in about 20-30 minutes of play time.

It's all lies. I wouldn't trust Jolly—as you'll see in the demo.

If you do give this execrable demonstration of monstrous levity a gander, please send me a letter and fill a page with your strongly worded opinions. A reply to an email will suffice.

Jolly's fights are a thing to behold. No one ever accused Jolly of being murder-shy, but he is first and foremost the world's worst entertainer. He is, secondly, a tinkerer. Murdering rates only as his third-place hobby.

All of Jolly's wicked tendencies erupt in his battles, with goblin pipes, murderous and personal lint, precise and ranged poo, and some disturbing inventions I shudder to describe.

(If I may break the frame a bit, fights/encounters in Jolly Age are card games but not hit point battles of attrition. They are tinkering card games, where you use cards to play items from your pack and modify them to satisfy the encounter's win condition. You can even cheat and change the win condition! Jolly loves cheating, but only if it's honest cheating.)

I hope I can assuage your insatiable curiosity for the strange and macabre with such humble, FREE offerings.

Offerings that have inflicted grievous wounds upon my already shaky sanity.

I would never* be so crude as to ask for compensation for my efforts. If you felt generous, however, I certainly would not refuse funds.

Help unleash Jolly upon the world, keep my poor body and soul tenuously entwined another month, with a paid subscription to the Stitched Realms.

Your haggard and haphazard wordsmith,

The Perspiring Author

*Jolly never lies, but do not make the mistake of trusting him. I might bend the truth a little, for modesty's sake, but I assure you I endeavor to be much more worthy of your trust.

If—out of pure deviance—you somehow enjoy the story of Jolly Good: A Ghastly Entertainment, there are some more honest accounts of how Jolly came to be locked in a trunk. Unfortunately, such honesty comes at the price of a little mystery...
